Springwood Bushwalking Club Inc.

Springwood Bushwalking Club Incorporated (SBC) is a member of the NSW Confederation of Bushwalking Clubs. The club maintains around 250 members and operates mostly in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney.

ACTIVITIES

We undertake a variety of bushwalks from day walks to challenging multi-day wilderness adventures. Other activities include mountain bike rides, car camping and liloing. We also offer training in navigation/map reading, bush skills and encourage members to undertake first aid training. There is usually a range of activities every weekend. Each activity is lead by a volunteer. Leaders submit activity ideas to the committee before they are published in the program. Our Program is updated every two months and operates for three months with a rolling one month overlap.

SAFETY

Bushwalking and other outdoor activities entail a level of risk. Safety is a very serious issue and includes being properly prepared. Walkers must ensure they are sufficiently fit to undertake activities. Activity grading levels are often more difficult that inexperienced bushwalkers would expect. You should ask the activity leader if in doubt.

MEETINGS

Our meetings are held on the second Monday of the month in the assembly hall (the most north western building) at Faulconbridge Public School at Grose Road Faulconbridge at 7.30pm. Parking is available in Meeks Crescent, which runs along the northern boundary of the school. The program includes details of upcoming activities and reports on previous events, features guest speakers and includes a tea break for socializing. BYO cup and $1 for a hot drink and nibbles. All are welcome.
